About Feralis Press

Feralis Press was founded by Nicole Deliz, a Puerto Rican and German storyteller, from a lifelong devotion to monsters, myth, and the power of dark storytelling to give shape to fear, identity, and survival. The press is rooted in the belief that horror and monster stories are not escapism, but inheritance—stories passed down through culture, folklore, and imagination, carrying truth in their teeth.

The vision behind Feralis Press is shaped by Nicole Deliz’s upbringing in a transient, high-stakes military household. Raised as an Army brat without a single hometown to anchor her, stories became the constant—books carried from base to base, devoured and reread until their spines cracked. In a home where reading was treated as essential oxygen, storytelling was not a hobby but a primary language. Monsters, myths, and shadowed worlds were companions long before they became craft.

Formative years spent in Puerto Rico served as a creative crucible for what Feralis Press would later stand for. Immersed in the island’s lush landscapes, layered histories, and vibrant folklore, Nicole developed a lasting fascination with myth and the uncanny, and with the shadowed places where imagination takes root. Early, hand-drawn stories explored fear, transformation, and the monstrous not as spectacle, but as something intimate and meaningful—an approach that remains central to the press’s identity today.

That imaginative foundation is reinforced by a rigorous respect for craft. Nicole Deliz holds a Master’s degree and spent years as a High School Literature and AP Language and Composition educator, with additional experience as an AP Reader. This background informs Feralis Press’s editorial philosophy: a balance of feral creativity and structural precision. The press is committed to honoring raw, emotionally honest storytelling while ensuring narrative strength, clarity, and intentional design.

Today, Feralis Press is an independent publishing house dedicated to dark, immersive fantasy and horror that blends grit, mystery, and heart. It exists to support writers who love monster stories and the shadowed traditions of horror—especially those who have been told their work is too dark, too strange, or too much. The press champions character-driven narratives, atmospheric worldbuilding, and stories unafraid to unsettle, challenge, or linger.

Based in Tampa, Florida, Feralis Press continues to grow alongside its flagship series, The Blood of the Gods Saga, while expanding its catalog to include new voices with stories that bite. At its core, the press remains committed to one guiding promise:

Feralis Press publishes stories with teeth.
